Summary

Artemis's father has been missing for almost two years。 His location? The Arctic Circle, where the Russian Mafiya are holding him prisoner。 Now Artemis must execute a daring rescue operation to get his father back。

But that's not his only problem。 Since abducting one of an underground race of armed and dangerous fairies, Artemis has become their prime suspect for any human wrongdoing。 Elfin Captain Holly Short has accused him of supplying illegal human power cells (aka AAA batteries) to the goblin gangs。 There's going to be a terrifying uprising – but at least it will get Artemis away from his computer and he'll meet some new people。

It's just a pity most of them want to kill him。

Lost in Book Land

Hello Again,This was one of the last two books I read in the month of August! I went into the month of August with this book, at the time I had about 100 pages left but I kept putting it off。 One day, I decided that it was time! It’s not that I was not enjoying the book overall, because I was, it’s more that I hit one point in the story (I am not going to specifically say what it was and ruin the story for anyone because it was pretty far in) but I just really did not like that part! Once I got Hello Again,This was one of the last two books I read in the month of August! Once I got past that part, I really loved the rest of the book! This is only my second Artemis Fowl book, I never read these as a kid but my spouse has and really enjoyed them! When the movie was announced, I promised to read them so we could watch it together! We decided when I finished book two, we would watch the movie (we actually did on the same night I finished it)! I will be continuing the series, because I am curious to see what happens but for now let’s talk book two!SPOILERS AHEADWhen Artemis receives what might be a ransom note for his father。 He drops everything and heads home from school to gather the necessary items! With Butler in tow Artemis begins to make the journey to the ransom spot and to attempt to formulate a plan。 However, life has other plans for Artemis。 Underground there is a lot going on, and some people (Foaly, Holly, Root) think Artemis might be part of these goings-on。 So they intercept Artemis and Butler for questioning but when they learn that neither of them is a part of the terrible goings-on below。 They know that they need their help to figure out what is going on。 But if Artemis helps them he may not be able to get to his father’s ransom spot in time! Also how does he even know for sure that these people have his father alive?Overall, I did enjoy this one however, as I mentioned earlier there was one spot where things really slowed down for me。 But once I was through that everything was awesome! In this book, it was nice to see more of the relationship form between Holly and Artemis。 Additionally, I liked that we got more resolution with his family situation in particular his dad。 I will be picking up book three at some point, but I am not totally sure when。Goodreads Rating: 3 Stars 。。。more

Good story plot wise and character development。 Artemis is becoming more likable。 Kids would like it。 I struggle with the crude aspects of the story。

Este segundo libro supera con creces al primero ♥️Hay mucha acción, frases ingeniosas y nuestros queridos personajes principales empiezan a crecer。 Emocionada por saber las siguientes aventuras 😬

This book was quite a bit better than the first one because Artemis is a more likable character。 He doesn't hurt people in this book。 In fact, his goal is to rescue his father, and he has to help the fairies to do it。I wasn't sure after the first book if I'd continue with this series, but I like the direction it's going。I listened to this as an audiobook。 This book was quite a bit better than the first one because Artemis is a more likable character。 He doesn't hurt people in this book。 In fact, his goal is to rescue his father, and he has to help the fairies to do it。I wasn't sure after the first book if I'd continue with this series, but I like the direction it's going。I listened to this as an audiobook。 。。。more

This book is not my favorite book in the Artemis Fowl series, but it is well written。 It is interesting how all of the characters you thought would maybe never meet each other again met each other again in a very different situation。

«آرتمیس باهوشه。 آرتمیس باهوشه。 آرتمیس باهوشه。» این راهی‌ست که نویسنده برای نشان دادن باهوشی آرتمیس به ما انتخاب کرده که کاملا حس القاگونه‌ای دارد。 ضمناً باهوشی‌های آرتمیس آن‌قدر مصنوعی‌ست که اصلا نمی‌توان باورش کرد。

Found this had higher highs than the first book。 More twists, better characterization, a more believable emotional bond。 The plot leading them to quite diverse environments kept it interesting, and the stakes "felt" higher and more immediate (even if they were quite high in the first, they didn't feel as heavy!) Mulch in general is a great character, and a welcome return as a third party in this narrative with how intensely engrossed the other characters are in their plotlines。 Villains: (view s Found this had higher highs than the first book。 More twists, better characterization, a more believable emotional bond。 The plot leading them to quite diverse environments kept it interesting, and the stakes "felt" higher and more immediate (even if they were quite high in the first, they didn't feel as heavy!) The Arctic Incident was a fun second installment in the Artemis Fowl series and I can’t wait to continue my reread。CW: misogyny

This book was marginally acceptable, and just when I thought I found a good book series for the little one。 First of all, "Zdravstvutye syn" does not mean "Hello, son", even when spelled correctly, which it is definitely not。 Second, the only really funny moment was when the narrator pronounced "stroganina" something like "strognennina", which doesn't indicate high standards for funny moments。 And third, it is as if The Seventh Dwarf never happened。 I know the the Seventh Dwarf was written later This book was marginally acceptable, and just when I thought I found a good book series for the little one。 First of all, "Zdravstvutye syn" does not mean "Hello, son", even when spelled correctly, which it is definitely not。 Second, the only really funny moment was when the narrator pronounced "stroganina" something like "strognennina", which doesn't indicate high standards for funny moments。 And third, it is as if The Seventh Dwarf never happened。 I know the the Seventh Dwarf was written later than the Arctic Incident, but chronologically it happens earlier, and I would expect a children's writer to tie up loose ends a little better than this。 Or a lot better。 。。。more

This was better than the last。 I liked how there were actual dynamics between humans and the people vs just competition like before。 I also enjoyed seeing more of Artemis' arc。 I'm really hoping the series only goes up from here。 This was better than the last。 I liked how there were actual dynamics between humans and the people vs just competition like before。 I also enjoyed seeing more of Artemis' arc。 I'm really hoping the series only goes up from here。 。。。more
